Madonna's Get Stupid Video

Posted By LolaDub on Sep 17, 2008 at 6:28AM

This is the controversial Get Stupid video that Madonna shows during her Sticky & Sweet Tour, which groups John McCain in with leaders like Hitler, Chinese premier Wen Jiabao, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, and Kim Jong Il and Mike Huckabee, while grouping Obama with the Dalai Lama, Al Gore, Bob Geldof, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Michael Moore, Bill Gates, JFK, and Bono.

John McCain spokesperson Tucker Bounds says, "The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time. It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

What are you opinions about the video and the comparisons Madonna makes?

Madonna Dedicates 'Like A Virgin' to the Pope

Posted By LolaDub on Sep 8, 2008 at 8:43AM

Madonna's tumultuous relationship with the Catholic church took yet another strange turn this weekend, when she paid homage to the Pope before performing her hit "Like a Virgin."

"I dedicate this song to the Pope, because I'm a child of God," the performer, 50, told 60,000 fans who flocked to the Italian capital for the latest stop on her Sticky & Sweet world tour, Reuters reports. "All of you are also children of God."

In 2006, Vatican officials accused the singer of putting on one of the most blasphemous displays of all time when she staged a mock crucifixion during her performance at the city's Olympic Stadium.

Madonna, who comes from a devout Italian Catholic family, has often clashed with the church over her penchant for mixing religious and sexual imagery.

The Vatican also condemned her controversial 1989 video for the song "Like A Prayer," which featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna seducing a black Jesushttp://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20224139,00.html

Madonna Pulls In Switzerland's Biggest Concert Ever

Posted By LolaDub on Sep 1, 2008 at 10:01AM

Record number of fans showed up for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour in Switzerland this past weekend. And we're talking record numbers!

More than 72,000 fans showed up the Dübendorf former military airfield near Zurich. The Rolling Stones had played the same venue back in 2006, but to about 10K less fans.

And boy did fans show their loyalty! Madge was given a standing ovation as she was brought in on a throne in the beginning of the show. All hail the Queen of Pop!

Madonna Exhibition In The Works

Posted By LolaDub on Aug 26, 2008 at 6:33AM

Over 300 personal and professional items from Madonna's closet will be featured in an exhibition in London next year in honor of the Pop Queen's career.

Iconic pieces including the dress Madge wore in her 1985 video for Material Girl and the wedding dress she wore in 1996 film Evita will be on display. It is going to be the world's largest collection of Madonna artifacts!

Exhibition curator Ted Owen says, "This is an unprecedented collection of Madonna memorabilia, that represents every stage of her glittering career. These are museum-quality pieces - but they will be presented in-keeping with the glamour and sense of theatre that the queen of pop has made her trademark and Madonna fans should be very excited indeed."

Mark your calendars! The exhibition is expected to run from February 21-March 22, 2009 at London's Old Truman Brewery.

Guy Ritchie Impressed By Madonna's Concert

Posted By LolaDub on Aug 25, 2008 at 6:34AM

Everybody is ranting and raving about Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour! Even her own hubby Guy Ritchie admits he was impressed by her performance, the level of production, and the massive amounts of security surrounding his wife.

He says, "It's quite an experience being on tour with the missus. In America you get full-on motorcades and 15-car escorts from the police. In London, you're lucky if you get one rozzer (police officer). It's something else on show night. There will be 20 levels of staff before you get through to see the missus."

He adds, "This is my fourth tour. I went to almost every single show the last time around but I hadn't seen any of this one before tonight. I loved it."

Did you happen to catch Madonna's first concert this past weekend? If you did, leave us your thoughts on her performance.

Madonna's Confessions Coming Your Way

Posted By LolaDub on Jul 29, 2008 at 8:09AM

Everyone is cashing in on Madonna's fame, including her manager Guy Oseary, who is planning on releasing a book about the pop queen.

This isn't going to be a scandalous tell-all though, "Madonna: Confessions" is going to be a 224-page coffee-table book of photos from her 2006 world tour.

There won't be any shocking surprises either, Madge was fully involved in the project and even helped handpick the pics and provided quotes. Sounds a little boring, but we're sure Madonna enthusiasts will be happy with the end result.

The $39.95 volume is set to his stores this coming October, just in time for her tourhttp://www.hollyscoop.com/madonna/madonnas-confessions-coming-your-way_17027.aspx
